How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your Word.
Psalm 119:9

TAKING IT IN

Our young women today are in the fight of their life. They live in a culture so devoid of truth that without the Word of God “cleansing” their way, the lies of the world will certainly take over. Add to that the ramping up of the enemy’s real mission to steal, kill and destroy.

As I had the opportunity to reach out to junior high and high school girls in the midst of my “Truly Beautiful” conferences, I heard a common cry from their precious hearts – HELP ME!

Their struggle to understand their identity in Christ, how to handle the pressure of their peers and how to deal with broken lives already damaged by the sins of others against them, present the very real need for older women to take their place according to Titus 2 and help them learn how to “take heed” according to the Word of God. The idea of this word “heed” speaks to “keeping”, “having charge of” even further defined to mean “saving life”. We have the opportunity to keep, guard, protect and save their lives with the Word of God.

MAKING IT MEANINGFUL

Take a moment to read Proverbs 7:1-7. Solomon is exhorting his son to “wisdom” and warning him of the seducing ways of the immoral woman. So too must we be exhorting and warning our younger women to the seducing ways of the world, to expose the traps of the enemy and how to wield the Word of God so that it protects them from the bad choices and wrong thinking that the world promotes.

Jesus said in John 17:7, “Sanctify them by Your truth, Your Word is Truth”.  We can partner with our young women on their journey of sanctification. The wisdom we have gained in our lives offers them a chance to avoid the mistakes we have made. Solomon said it so well:

Say to wisdom, “You are my sister
and call understanding your nearest kin”.

We can provide both wisdom and understanding that will help to keep our youth “cleansed” on the path of life.

WORKING IT INTO MY HEART

Who are you investing in?
If you are a mom, you start with your children, training, discipling and mentoring them through the Word of God. Your children are never too old for you to continue to pour into their lives.
Then take it a step further, find a young woman at church who may need a “spiritual” mom. Offer to spend some time with her and see where she might need guidance or healing in her life.
Then, take it outside your church and into your community — our pregnancy resource centers are in desperate need of women to counsel and love on young women in crisis. As you have the opportunity to share the gospel and the blood of Christ that cleanses us, you will truly save her life eternally and the life of her unborn baby.

May we take our Titus role seriously and always be women ready to disciple, train and mentor with the Word of God.
End your time today reading Titus 2:3-5. Be intentional and journal a plan of action that will help you to live it out in your everyday life. As you do, your heart will truly be “REVIVED” as you set your life aside to invest in the lives of others.
