No Fear, Conqueror

Every woman has a story. Every woman has a struggle. Every woman has a promise of victory.

God has given us the examples of women in the Bible who walked victoriously with Him. Women, very much like you and me, who didn’t have it all together, but loved God. His love helped them through times of struggle and difficult circumstances. Their victories brought about His perfect will in their lives.

We make a grievous error when we believe that the women in the Bible are somehow irrelevant to the lives we are living today. These women were meant to be our heroines, our comrades and our closest friends. Their lives stand as a testimony to the power of God’s love and faithfulness.

We are told in Hebrews 11:13 that the women in the Old Testament “all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, they were assured of them.” The promises they saw from afar, we enjoy today in Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:37 assures us that God has given us the power to conquer, to be victorious. We need not fear life or death, things present or things to come, because God loves us and sent His Son to give us the victory. This is not a promise with conditions attached: “If you do this, God will do that”.  Christ has already accomplished it!

• We are free from judgment because Christ died for us and we have His righteousness.
• We are free from defeat because Christ lives in us by His Spirit and we share His life.
• We are free from discouragement because Christ is coming for us and we will share His glory.
• We are free from fear because Christ intercedes for us and we cannot be separated from His love.

Join me as I blog about the women in the Old and New Testament, who knew their God and understood His love. Their legacies of victory are ours to embrace. As we uncover each woman’s story, her struggle and victory, may it forever change our lives. We were meant to be victorious.
